Situated on Symmetry Park industrial estate in Swindon, the site is a 2.3 million sq ft warehouse that was leased to Amazon in 2021 on a 20-year lease. The scheme is for one B8 (storage and distribution) building which has three mezzanine floors and a total of 2,327,879 sq ft of floor space including 55,370 sq ft of offices. There are 791 parking spaces.
Haydon Construction Services provided Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, Procurement, Value Engineering and Change Management services. The project was subject to change and variations due to deviations away from the original contract and employers’ requirements in order to meet Amazon’s requirements. Haydon Construction Services oversaw this process to ensure that accurate costs and correct procedures were followed.
